Peacocks in Sri Lanka🦚

Peacocks are beautiful and colorful birds commonly found in Sri Lanka 🇱🇰. The most well-known species is the Indian peafowl, which has a bright blue body and long, shining tail feather. These birds live in forest, dry zones and rural villages, and they are often seen walking freely near temples and roads.

Male peacocks are famous for spreading their large, fan-shaped tails to attract females, specially during the breeding season. This display is very eye- catching and colorful. Peacocks mainly eat seeds, insects, and small creatures, which helps control pests in the environment. In Sri Lanka, Peacocks are also important in culture and are loved by people for their beauty, elegance and unique behavior.
