My Village

Image
My village is Sandalankawa. It is located in Kurunegala District. From Kurunegala, it takes about 2  hours by bus 🚌 to reach Sandalankawa. As my grandmother told me,our village got the name "Sandalankawa" when the legendary princess kuweni, while  feeling, saw the moon and exclaimed, " Aho! lanka sandalanka!"  My village has a temple, a church, a reservoir and paddy fields. It can be described as a village that perfectly embodies the traditional Sinhalese concept of the ' wewai dagebai gamai pansalai '  ( the reservoir the stupa the village and the temple). My house is situated a bit further inside the village, which gives us a beautiful, unobstructed view of the paddy fields. In the evening, the sky looks like absolutely stunning. It's a truly peaceful and beautiful sight that calms the mind. The life of our village still moves to the rhythm of nature. In the morning, we can see farmers tending to their feilds around the wewa, and the sound of temple ...

The floor was covered with dry leaves. Every small sound made my heart beat faster. After some time, I started to feel more curious than afraid.I walked slowly around the house and looked at the old furnitures. I thought about the people who once lived there. I imagined their happy family moments in the past. In the evening, I heard a loud noise behind me.I was very frightened and closed my eyes tightlyπŸ˜–. I thought something scary was coming toward me😱. But suddenly I heard my mother's voice calling my name😳. I quickly opened my eyes and realized I was in my own bedroom! It was all just a dream😁.
