My School 🏫


 My school is Newstead Girls' College.Newatead Girls' College is one of the most famous girls' schools in 🇱🇰. It is located in Negombo, Newstead Avenue. The school was founded in 1815 by Wesleyan  Methodist missionaries. It is oldest girls' school in Sri Lanka 🇱🇰 and third oldest public school in the country. The school motto is ' more beyond '.


At first, the school was a small vernacular school. Later, It developed into a well-known English high school of girls. In 1919, the school was named ' Newstead' after Rev.Robert Newstead, who was the first resident minister in Negombo. In 1962, the school became a government national school under the free education system.



Today, Newstead Girls' College has more than 3000 students. It provides education from grade 1 to grade 13. The principal of the school is Mrs. Gayani Herath. Students from different religious and ethic groups study together in my school. Such as Sinhala, Tamil , Muslim and Burgher students.


The school is not only good academic studies but also in sports and other activities. Students take past in many competitions. Including tennis and other school sports events. With more than 200 years of history, Newstead Girls' College  continues to guide and inspire young girls to become successful women in the future.

A Day Alone in an Abandoned House

 Last Sunday,I spent a day alone in an abandoned house in a lonely village 🏚️.The house was very old and silent. There wwere broken windows and dusty walls. No one had lived there for many years. When I first went inside, I felt a little sacred. The rooms were dark and cold. The doors made strange sounds when the wind belw.l could hear birds and insect outside. The floor was covered with dry leaves. Every small sound made my heart beat faster.
